It’s funny to think that in my twenty-something plus years of living I still don’t know myself fully. But then again they say your twenties is the time to find yourself and discover who you truly are, but I have come to realize it’s not as easy and pleasurable as I once thought.
These past few months I have constantly been working on my mental health. It hasn’t been easy with all the obstacles life throws at me, but I can confidently say I am getting to where I need to be. I have learned a lot about myself and how to discover oneself. Its only right I shear with you guys my experience.
The first steps to gaining a better understanding of yourself is to identify your values and strength. Starts with accepting yourself for who you are, make peace with who you are so that you can move forward. Write down all your major goals that you feel you have achieved and what you want to achieve.
Exercise and eat right. I know what you are thinking, “what does eating and exercise have to do with finding myself” Well, its all related. When you keep your body healthy, your mind and soul will stay nourished. When your mind, body, and soul is in sync, then you can think clearly about the person you are and the person you want to be.

Alright back to the topic. Work on knowing your personality, and understand that perfect is not real. We all imperfect humans and we are all bonds to make mistake. So accept what you can’t change, admit your mistakes and stop judging. Be selfish every now and then, its ok to be selfish when it comes to taking care of yourself.
Face your fears. It can be really hard, but mostly everything we want is on the other side of fear. Believe in yourself, and ask for wisdom when needed. Everybody needs someone to talk to. Cut out all negativity and only associate with people that add positivity in your life.
Once you begin to work toward your authentic self, you would notice that you stopped caring about other people opinion about you. You will start living your best life and you would be happier than you’ve ever been.
I am still working on myself daily. But reflecting on my life and working on myself has made me more carefree and more confident in myself. I still have a long way to go, but I am one step closer each day.
Nobody said growing up was easy, but I think I’m handling it just fine. We learn every day, and each day is another opportunity to better our lives. I hope you find this post helpful and encouraging. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the look
